There is a lot of talk right now about introducing tariffs on China and goods imported from other countries. I’m far from an economist, but from everything I have read this would be bad for the country, especially at this point. We have a government that is purposely spending this country into oblivion. This country is in uncharted waters as far as the amount of debt. As of October 10, 2010, the Total Public Debt Outstanding was approximately 94% of annual GDP, ($13.616 Trillion). The amount of unfunded liabilities is approximately $130 trillion.
A large portion of American debt is owned by China. We know we have a trade deficit, and at first glance it looks like if we change that, the other things will come into line. We have only to look at the past and that tells us that tariffs rarely work.
Recently Obama threatened a tariff against Chinese made tires. China retaliated with a tax, or even a threat to stop to stop importing American Chickens. Right now China is negotiating from a position of power.

Reply to A Liberal’s Questions
There is so much in which to reply. Let’s start with the first amendment. You say in the spirit of the amendment there is separation of church and state. The Federalist Papers tell us the intent of our founders. They wanted to keep religion safe from government, not government safe from religion. In fact some of the founders expressed that states should declare a state religion, one state actually did, but I can’t remember which. We have to read the amendment exactly as it’s written, and it’s meaning is clear that congress shall not declare a state religion and people should be free to practice whatever religion they wish.
Personally I am happy with the separation of church and state, what I do hate is for people to wish something to be in a document, so therefore that’s what must be there. You said several times that O’Donnell made a mistake and was just technically right. She was right in every sense of the word.

Who Are The Progressives?
For the past 100 years the progressive movement has pushed and clawed
its way into control of the Unites States. Franklin D. Roosevelt
brought the progressive movement into prominence. His progressive
polices catapulted the United States into the worst economic period in
history. While the rest of the world experienced a recession, or even a
depression, only in the USA is it known as the Great Depression.
During the period known as the Great Depression, the USA witnessed the largest expansion of government in history. FDR perpetuated the depression so that he could push an progressive agenda. People looked upon FDR as if he was a savior when he began the jobs programs. Those people built parks, bridges and roads. While those things aren’t bad, they did little to provide permanent work.
It was only after World War 2 that the depression ended. For the next twenty years the USA saw prosperity never before experienced. That prosperity was kick-started by a drastic cut in taxes. Taxes needed to fund the war had been pushed even higher than the progressive tax of FDR. The war taxes were just, but the reduction of those taxes are what propelled us into the roaring 50’s, just as the reduction of taxes propelled the nation into the roaring 20’s.

Truth, Not Truthers
On September 11th, 2001, many of us sat mesmerized as we watched the second airliner fly into the World Trade Center. We listen to the television as Osama Bin Ladin told us how he had orchestrated the attack.
In the aftermath of 9/11 the Truthers were born of people that wished to blame George W. Bush and the Republican Party for every ill in the world. A decade later these people are still declaring that the Muslims are innocent, while the deadliest attack on mainland USA was the fault of Republicans within the government, only now they have just reduced the rhetoric to the government in general.
So let’s first define what is the government. The government as intended by the Constitution are the people of the United States. I doubt the Truthers believe it’s the people, so government must be all the people that work for the federal government. There are millions of federal employees that make up the government. None of the Truthers have yet narrowed the definition enough to tell us exactly who within this massive body that orchestrated 9/11.

Obama Shrugged
The line seems to be moving a little faster today,” Jane said to her friend.
Margo smiled and said, “I think so. We have been here only an hour and
we are almost to the door. Doesn’t the fresh bread smell so wonderful
today?”
She replied, “It smells delicious. I’m glad the government decided the
lactose and gluten free bread was suitable for us to eat. That will go
well with the beans.”
After Barack Obama’s forth term he was appointed the lifetime position
as President of the United States. Obama had promised to fundamentally
change America. He had passed universal health-care and to limit cost he
had, along with congress, taken over the farms so that all people ate
equally. All foods found to be unhealthy were banned. The medical board
decided which foods were the healthiest and would lower health-care cost.
Once the two women had purchased their bread and other supplies, they
headed home. It wasn’t long before they were walking into the
fifty-story apartment building. They smiled at the armed soldier
standing just inside. Margo asked her friend, “Can you believe that
people used to live in single family dwellings? That was so wasteful of
resources.”

Voting ‘R’
I remember standing in the voting booth staring at Lindsay Graham’s name trying to make a choice. I had the choice of sending a newcomer to Washington, or sending someone with experience and power. In the end I chose power, and since that moment I have had to grimace each time I watched the senator I sent to Washington deal and compromise with the Democrats. If Graham was at first honorable, he was quickly corrupted by the power in which John McCain offered.
Since that time I have become a part of the Tea Party movement, and I know I haven’t done as much to help as I should, but I have come to terms with the fact that we can effect change in the United States. The
day has come where others and I don’t feel we have to vote for the likes of Graham, despite pressure from beltway Republicans.

Presidential Personalities
Presidential Personalities
I received this in my email. I'm not sure who wrote it originally so cannot give credit. I cannot attest to it factually, but it seems to support things I have heard from other sources. This is the letter just as I received it.YOU WILL FIND THE SECRET SERVICE VIEWS ON THE PERSONALITIES OF PAST PRESIDENTS TO BE QUITE INTERESTING.
For those who don't know... Capt. Denny Keast flies for UAL and flew many SAMs (Special Air Missions) for the White House.
********************************************************
I flew 4 Presidential support missions in the C-141 out of Dover AFB, DE.. Two for President Johnson and two for President Nixon.
