Communism falls and Thanksgiving Rises

The United States has one of the best examples ever of communism's failure. We all have heard the fanciful tale of how Thanksgiving began. We have all heard how the poor ignorant Europeans settled in Virginia and didn't know how to grow crops in which to feed themselves. I clearly understand that the varieties in land can make farming hard, and sometimes nearly impossible.
Europeans had roamed several continents, all the while managing to feed themselves. It was only when they came to some of the most fertile soil on the planet that they began to starve. We are told that if not for the indigenous population the settlers would have perished.
Something did happen in Virginia. Those people were starving and then suddenly their fields flourished. That transformation was in government, not agriculture. In the beginning they were a collective society, Communism, if you must say it.  During harvest all crops were brought to central storage where the village elders made sure each household received their fair share. How many times have we heard that term from Obama and the other socialist?

Liberalism or Greedism

This diatribe is one I have been hesitant to write. The thoughts from this one came about because of a personal conversation. With that said, I hope I can write this without revealing anything that was said to me in confidence.

The gentleman I was speaking with was an admitted liberal. It’s rare that a liberal admits to being one, so that is something at least. Throughout our conversation he often mentioned social conscience. That is, when he wasn’t complaining about President Bush and all conservatives.

Of course, when talking to a liberal, Iraq is going to come up. He said that all the money that was being spent on the war could be used to take care of the poor around the world. I’m not sure about the rest of the world, but I can’t argue the poor in the USA could use some help.

Where Are You Politically?

I am going to attempt to explain parts of the chart. I know there are
many that will disagree with the chart because I place fascism to the
left. History and resources describe fascism as being to the right. I
point to Germany as to why this is wrong. Hitler’s party of power was
the National Socialist Party. Socialism is clearly to the left by
anyone’s definition.

Government Subsidized Solar

I was just listening to an advertisement for solar panels to provided electricity for your homes. They are promising a cost as low as $100 annually for your electrical needs. They also said that the government would pay for almost half of the initial cost. I’m not sure how successful this company and others are, but I am greatly disturbed.

We once again have the government interfering in the free market. We have a lot of people with a surplus of cash or good credit having these solar systems installed only because they government is paying half the cost. This is great for the environment and those that can afford these panels, but what about the rest the people?

When a house switches to the government subsidized power system, that house goes off the grid. The more people that go off the grid, the less money the power companies have coming in to maintain systems. Yes, of course they will need less power generating plants. They will need less transmission lines as well. Eventually there might be enough houses on one side of town off the grid that it’s no longer economically feasible to maintain those lines. They can’t go up on prices to the remaining houses because of government price controls. If they were free to raise the prices to cover maintenance cost, a lot of people would no longer be able to afford the electricity.

The Power of Individualism

I find it a waste of time to debate the differences between socialism and communism. For me they are all just varying levels of the same thing. I am with those that believe you have the right to run your country as you see fit. The United States was founded on individualism, so no part of our federal Constitution allows for socialism. I want the right to be as rich as I can, or to be as poor as I want. No part of me understands anyone’s willingness to give up freedom.

Once you hand over all power to government, you have no hopes of ever getting it back, short of revolution. Government will not stop with a little power, they will chip away until they have it all and you have no rights left. If you think you can have only a little socialism on the federal level, you are fooling yourself . Some might think that letting government have all the power is fine, but you never know when you will get a government that is malevolent. I think people too easily forget what happened in Germany.

The Dollar Versus Gold and Oil Since 1974

Notice how the three tracked together until the 90′s when the dollar was being artificially inflated. If the Fed had been doing its job the dollar would have continued to track with oil and gold. Now that the dollar is being purposely devalued, the world is going to be forced to trade oil in some new currency or gold. Just follow the green line into the future and you can find the ruins of what was once the United States of America.

The Dollar, Gold and Oil Since 1974

Compares the movement in the real dollar index with gold and oil prices since 1974. The oil and gold series are adjusted for CPI inflation and all series are smoothed with a 12-month moving average. The real dollar index is adjusted for the relevant trading partners own currency inflation rates and shows a distinctly different picture than the nominal version of the index.

Court Rules California Same-Sex Marriage Ban Unconstitutional

I know how most conservatives feel about this ruling, they are angry. I am angry as well, except for different reasons. This court dared to say they base their decision on the US Constitution. If they had taken the time to read the Constitution, they would have found marriage is not one of the powers given to the federal government. They did correctly find that all Americans must be treated equally under the law. The court should have went farther and ruled that under the Constitution government has no power over marriage.

As I have written before, states began to take control over marriage to prevent blacks and whites from marrying, Now the states are using the same laws to discriminate. The government uses marriage as a tool to require one American to pay more taxes than another. They use it to encourage Americans to have children in order to reduce their tax debt. This is social engineering at the maximum.

Because of conservative Democrats and Republicans, no court will ever properly interpret the Constitution and declare marriage in its current form unconstitutional.

Court: CA Same-Sex Marriage Ban Unconstitutional

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) – A federal appeals court on Tuesday declared California’s same-sex marriage ban to be unconstitutional, putting the bitterly contested, voter-approved law on track for likely consideration by the U.S. Supreme Court.
A three-judge panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled 2-1 that a lower court judge
