9/11 Thoughts

On 9/12, 2009, I stood with 1 million other Americans on the Capitol lawn to remember the feelings we all had the day after 9/11, 2001. The people standing with me knew the problems that led to the terrorists attacking the World Trade Center for a second time. Today it seems few know why 9/11 happened, and I suspect most people don't care.

The reason we were attacked is very simple, religious fanatics who have come to hate America. Our country has become the symbol of the western culture and Christianity. We are the Infidels—the Zionists. History tells us the Crusades lasted nearly 200 years, but truth be told, they never ended. War after war pitted Muslim against Christian.

Lost in Paradise

Amy Lee and the goth-metal band is for me no doubt the greatest ever to create music. I know most my age would not agree—that's beside the point. I was just listening to the song “Lost in Paradise" and thought this describes how I feel at times about my country.

Not since the so-called Civil War has this country been so deeply divided by political parties and ideologies. Americans fight vehemently in the name of their political parties. Even war is divided by party. Each party believes their war is the only one that's just. American people are too often sold a bill of goods in order to fight their supposed just war. If someone speaks out against war they are called an isolationist or pacifist. We repeatedly elect politicians that play those types of word games.

I awoke today to hear Mayor Bloomberg attacking his white opponent for posing with his black wife, saying he is racist for posing with her in a photograph. This couldn't have ever happened in paradise. There is no doubt we will hear one talking head after another justifying the mayor's comment.

The Not so New Deal

I recently came across this image and text on Facebook. I found the image to be over the top and the accompanying text interesting. I decided to take each bullet point and add my commentary.

(name removed) did a little research and came up with the following about Franklin Delano Roosevelt:

1. Brought the country back from financial collapse.

2. Established and protected Social Security.

3. Worked toward ending a war.

4. FDR was completely opposed to everything Hitler stood for - the biggest threat to national security. Hitler died on April 30, 1945 by taking poison and then shootin

g himself with a pistol. (corrected)

5. Wife was an advocate of the disadvantaged

6. Invested in jobs and the nation's infrastructure.

7. Spoke to the people not at them.

8. Strong advocate of the military and its soldiers and sailors.

9. Strong foreign policy record in the presence of tyrants.

10. Established and sustained regulation of Wall Street.

11. A champion of minority groups.

12. Ended discrimination in the military.

Sound familiar?

FDR is consistently considered one of the top three Presidents in history but the Tea Party consider him a dangerous Progressive much as they have maligned Obama.

Why is Obama The Reluctant Warrior?

Sometimes those of us who very closely follow politics and world events  just sit back and scratch our heads. This has been my reaction to the attack on Libya. I sat and listen to all the talking heads, especially conservatives that go on about how the USA is not taking the lead in the Libyan attack. There is a simple answer for this.

We have to look back to the relationship Gaddafi had or has with Reverend Wright and Louis Farrakhan. There is evidence that on more than one occasion Gaddafi gave millions to Farrakhan. We all know that there is a close relationship between Farrakhan, Wright, and Obama.


Black Liberation Theology and the Nation of Islam are not that far apart in their ideology. We have President Obama who is an anti-colonialist. It only makes sense that the three of the men and groups are allied. Toss in Gaddafi who hates the USA and you come up with close allies. If not for the huge transfer of funds to the Nation of Islam we might not complete this tie. As recent as 1996 Gaddafi awarded Farrakhan the Al-Gaddafi award for human rights, which furthers the connection.
